An analog camera can quickly be converted into a high quality digital network camera using the AXIS 247S Single Channel Video Sever from Axis Communications. Once converted, the camera can be accessed for viewing its images and for listening in to its audio from a remote location over the Internet. Because of its small size and PoE power option, it can be installed close to the camera in areas with no direct access to an AC outlet.
- Compact Form
- Simultaneous M-JPEG/MPEG-4
- One-Way Audio
- Alarm I/O
A compact profile means that it can be placed close to a small analog camera without taking away from the camera's discreetness.
A built-in de-interlacing filter eliminates the artifacts that can be introduced during the analog to digital conversion process.
Simultaneous M-JPEG & MPEG-4 Streaming:
Simultaneous M-JPEG/MPEG-4 streaming allows a user to choose the appropriate compression format according to the task at hand while taking into account such crucial factors as available storage space and network bandwidth.
A 3.5mm mono audio input allows the use of an external microphone to record audio to go along with the video footage, thereby enhancing security performance.
PoE (Power over Ethernet):
PoE allows the unit to be powered via the same Ethernet cable used for data communication. This greatly simplifies the installation process, allowing camera placement in areas with no direct access to an AC outlet.
Motion Detection with Pre and Post Image Capture:
Recording can be set to commence when motion is detected within the camera's field of view. To better evaluate an occurrence, images preceding and following an event are captured along with the event footage.
Alarm I/O Ports:
A number of alarm I/O ports allow the use of external sensors to send and receive alarm alerts over a network.
