Model #:AXIS 241Q Blade 10 Pack

Axis Part #

The Axis Communications 209031 is a surveillance kit containing 10 AXIS 241Q 4-channel Blade Video Servers. Each server accepts a up to four analog fixed or dome cameras and turns them into virtual network cameras complete with remote Internet viewing and recording, PTZ control and alarm I/O ports. These board-shaped Blades are designed to slide into a 19" AXIS Rack Solution, which accepts up to twelve Blades and allows easy swapping between different Blade models. The Rack uses a single Ethernet port to connect to the network and supplies both power and serial camera control for each Blade Server.

With four cameras to a Blade, this 10-pack kit provides network connection for up to forty analog cameras. This makes this kit an essential package for large established security facilities looking to take full advantage of the latest in network technology without having to replace their existing high resolution and expensive analog equipment.

Simultaneous M-JPEG/MPEG-4 (30 FPS):
Video Servers are available in four different configurations, each designed to suit a particular application. This AXIS 241Q Video Server has the distinction of being able to capture video simultaneously in both the MJPEG and MPEG-4 formats at a resolution of 704 x 480 and at speeds up to 30 FPS. This gives a user the necessary control over how data is transmitted over a network and also provides a user with the image clarity and smooth picture movement required to better identify people and objects.

Secure Network Management:
An elaborate encryption and filtering system is incorporated to prevent hackers and other illicit network infiltrators from accessing the camera. Authorized users however will find it easy to access the camera for viewing images and for PTZ control. A multi-user password system is employed to determine the level of access for general clients and an administrator.

PTZ Control:
A number of standard serial ports allow the direct connection of PTZ dome cameras. Once connected, dome cameras are treated like any other network camera, with a user able to control basic pan, tilt, and zoom functions as well as any additional complex operations like preset positions, tours and groups.

Alarm I/O Ports:
To further enhance security performance, this server features a number of alarm I/O ports. These I/O ports will accept a number of external sensors to trigger alarm events such as when a door or window is being forcefully opened, and to activate devices following an alarm event like turning a light on or locking down a row of doors.

Built-In Motion Detection:
Built into the server is a motion detection function fully configurable for area and sensitivity. Motion detection not only alerts an operator to suspicious movement, but when used to trigger recording to a DVR, saves valuable time and network resources. To keep users apprised of all important events, this server can be set to send alerts to a designated Email address over the network.
